I go back through my childhood and it's kind of funny. I tried SO HARD to be the perfect Catholic. I wrote a letter to God asking for an autograph and it hung unanswered above my bed for a month. I tried to see the Virgin Mary in random objects, but could never convince myself of it. I brought my pet lizard to church so it could be Catholic so maybe my parents would love it like I did (they did not.) Eventually I realized that people were actually getting something out of mass instead of counting ceiling tiles and waiting for it to be over.
I'm fascinated by religions, but they're just not for me.
